Biography of Jeffrey Whitman

Business Aviation Safety - The Sky is Not the Limit, It’s the Beginning

When considering safety, business aircraft operators must continuously reach for the stars. Jeff believes passionately in the continuous improvement of aviation safety, with a balanced approach for efficiency. He is an accomplished corporate pilot with more than 25 seamless years of accident/incident free experience. Jeff holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with over 14,000 hours of flight experience and Type Ratings in multiple jet aircraft.

Jeff has received certification from the National Business Aviation Association and is recognized by the International Business Aviation Council in the development of Safety Management Systems and Quality Assurance Programs for Flight Operations. He has the expertise and experience in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Safety Programs, Hazard and Risk Assessments, and Accident/Incident Tracking Systems.

Guided by his values, Jeff is a driving force for major initiatives toward progress. He served as a Senior Captain and Safety Officer for a major corporate flight department, operating multiple jet aircraft, and advised on all activities that could impact flight and ground safety. In this role, Jeff developed a process driven framework for the investigation and analysis of operational events, authored safety articles, worked to proactively identify and manage risks, and participated in the development of the Safety Management System.

Jeff has effective collaborative skills and successfully led in the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the integration of the Flight Operations of two major corporations. He championed the Corporate Quality Process Management Team, developed or enhanced operational procedures, and participated on the team that achieved IS-BAO Stage One and Stage Two certification. Jeff is successful in tearing down walls and actively fosters harmonization of a high level of safety and professionalism.

Jeff has strong technical writing skills and writes for his audience in a succinct and comprehendible style and has been the author and editor of Flight Operation Manuals, Expanded Operational Procedures and Aircraft Checklists, Operational Event Analyses, and Corporate Quality Certification Applications.
